EAMG meets Marina Ventures Ltd

Mr. L. Gerard Saliot, CEO of Euro Asia Management Group, met Mr. Faiz Safi, chairman of Marina Ventures Ltd. (MVL), last 19th September 2007. Based in Baltimore, Maryland, they are known as ‘designers and builders of the world’s finest Marinas’. Mr. Safi was introduced to Mr. Saliot by Mr. Gerry de Souza, CEO of Marina Ventures Asia Pacific. Mr. Saliot was previously in liaison with Mr. De Souza for the Sipora tourism project in Mentawai Group of Islands, Indonesia.

Mr. Safi is in search of an equivalent of ‘Yellow cedar’ glue-laminated wood to be utilized for their future pontoon projects in Japan, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Middle-East and USA. MVL uses 500,000sq.ft. of this type of wood laminate every year. Euro Asia Trade and Industry (EATI) may be a possible supplier for this alternative product.

The other meeting agenda is for MVAP to seek Mr. Saliot’s advice regarding the development of Sipora tourism. On this island, MVAP envisions 300,000 housing units with complete amenities, proper infrastructure, large marina for charter fleets and an airport. As a Tourism Consultant, Mr. Saliot expressed his interest in the Mentawai Islands and the Sipora project. He wishes to see first and foremost, the location of the project before he is able to assess its viability. EATI can also be a potential supplier of the prefabricated timber bungalows.

An opportunity for a joint business venture with Marina Ventures Ltd. and EATI may be foreseen in the near future.
