attends preliminary meeting on the Sipora Tourism Project
in Mentawai Group of Islands, Indonesia

Mr. L. Gerard Saliot,
CEO of Euro Asia Management Group, together with Mr.
Mike Sharrocks a chartered Town Planner and
Urban Designer, were invited to attend a preliminary
meeting on the Sipora Tourism Project. This is a pet
project of Mr. Gerry de Souza from
Marina Ventures Asia Pacific (MVAP).
The concept plan is to develop six green
resort retirement villages with a projected total of
300,000 housing units and a large marina for charter
fleets on the 615 sq. km. Indonesian island of Sipora
off the West coast of Sumatra, in collaboration with
the local government of the Mentawai islands. The Mentawai
islands are known as surfers and sports fishing paradise.
The proposed villages will be grouped according to language
theme. The three that were identified are the German
Village, the English Village and the French Village.
The green resort will have the state of the art entertainment
technology with small environmental impact by combining
television, movies, internet, gaming, and communications
into one integrated service, using ViaCLIX IPTV
Systems.
MVAP is keen to work with Mr. Saliot on
the proposed French village and EAHC as a potential
supplier of the prefabricated timber bungalows. The
target age groups are from 50s-60s or the retirees.
These foreigners would love to live in tropical bungalows
with complete amenities.
Surbana International Consultants,
a multi-disciplinary consultants & developers and
a spin-off from Singapore’s Housing Development
Board (HDB) will be involved in the design and planning
of the infrastructure such as the airport, roads &
bridges, marina, water treatment plant, sewerage treatment
plant.
Burchill VDM, a comprehensive
urban development consultancy specializing in various
planning and designing disciplines were invited to assist
in the island’s master planning and to work on
the English village development.
Adelphi Asia Pacific,
a hotel management and hospitality consultancy were
present during the meeting to explore work on the German
village development.
